Spring is finally here! No longer is your front yard buried under a blanket of snow and old foliage. This is both a blessing and a curse. You couldn’t see what was under the snow and now you have to tackle it – but fear not! We’ve got some simple tricks to elevate your curb appeal.

Embrace Symmetry

We as humans love symmetrical patterns. Creating a symmetrical pattern with the front of your house will put focal points in all the right places and make your home look put together well. You can achieve this by putting planters on either side of your front door, installing matching wall lanterns and even around your garage door as well.

Make Over Your Mailbox

Your mailbox may take up only a small piece of real estate on your property, but it really packs a punch. Updating your dated mailbox with a more stylish option can make an understated but noticeable difference in your home’s curb appeal.

Add Some Front Door Décor

Did you know that wreaths aren’t only just for Christmas? There are plenty of year round options available to decorate your front door. You can opt for a seasonal one (for example, Easter) or you can go for one that has is without a theme. Additionally, you can find fresh flower wreaths, wreaths made from preserved greens and florals and ones made from faux plants. There’s something for every budget and every style that will surely add elegance to your front door.

Stain Your Garage Door

Replacing your entire garage door is an expensive endeavour, especially when it’s in good working order but it looks a little lacklustre. Instead of going through the hassle and cost of replacing your garage door, consider staining it a new colour. You truly can add a new lease of life with a new pop of colour.

Design A Clear Path

A well-defined path that leads from either your sidewalk or driveway to your front door makes your home look more inviting. The path itself can be built out of stone or brick so that it is easy to maintain, and can be elevated with lighting or flowers along the perimeter of the path so that it’s as easy to find at night as it is during the day.

Add New Door Hardware

Similarly to our point about replacing your garage door, it might not be worth it to totally replace your front door. However, if you want to make a noticeable upgrade to your front door you can pick new door hardware that contrasts with your door’s paint colour. For example, black hardware on a white door will stand out beautifully, or brass hardware on a black door. You can also add an extra level of sophistication by installing a door knocker.

There are so many ways to elevate your curb appeal without breaking the bank. These are just a few ideas we had in mind for this spring. Please share with us your tips and tricks for elevating your curb appeal!
